Alessandro Francesconi (born January 15, 2000) is in Italian chess Arena Grandmaster (2024).
Career
[edit]He played in several Italian championships. In 2021, he took 10th in Milan. In 2022, he tied for 9th [1] in Naples. That same year, he reached 1st in Lecce and he tied for 3rd in Trento.[2]
He represented Italy once in Chess Olympiads.[3]
In 2021, he achieved notable results including a 3rd-place finish at the Venice Open and a tie for 2nd in the Milan Masters. He represented Italy on the second reserve board at the 2022 Chess Olympiad, scoring a +4 –1 =2 record. He earned the Arena Grandmaster title in 2023.[4]
In 2024, he scored an upset win over Javier Hernandez Fernandez, after he made a rare blunder.[5]
