[edit]El C, I edit Wikipedia occassionally. Please let me know what is wrong with the first paragraph you removed by this edit. The source used does say that.

[edit]Please change X (no info) to "Several thousand supporters of Hefazat-e-Islam’s leader Mamunul Haque in Bangladesh attacked a Hindu village in March 2021, which resulted in the ransacking and looting of many houses and the vandalization of 70-80 houses."[1]

Can this be added in the examples section: The police took a group photo on the sacred steps of the Sabarimala with no respect for the traditions and the ADGP ordered a probe.[1]-AlBaluchi1 (talk) 13:34, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Toddy1: please respond to this also-AlBaluchi1 (talk) 13:00, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- If you read the sources you cited, they are far more nuanced than the text you proposed. For example, the source you cited mentions that
[...] standing with their backs to the ‘sanctum sanctorum’ was viewed as a serious breach of tradition.
However, you are using terms like 'no respect.' " Wikipedia articles are expected to be written from a neutral point of view, which your proposed text fails to comply with. Additionally, the ADGP ordered an inquiry, not a probe. The AP (talk) 08:28, 3 December 2024 (UTC)

Please add this to the Bangladesh section: On 25 November, 2024, a Hindu monk was arrested by the Bangladesh Metropolitan Police without charges for leading a peaceful protest against the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh.[1][2]AlBaluchi1 (talk) 11:34, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- If you read the sources you cited they are far more nuanced than the text you proposed. For example, the sources talk about how he is one of 19 people charged with sedition. Wikipedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view; your proposed text fails to comply with this:
- because it over-simplifies the issues (unlike the sources), and
- because it uses the loaded term "atrocities" in Wikipedia's voice, when it should be explaining what is meant and using sources to show the justification for calling them atrocities, and
- because we should also use a source that is supportive of the arrest by the police, so we are sure that we understand both side's point of view (just because we think they are wrong does not mean that we should ignore their point of view).
