An arrest warrant is a warrant issued by a public officer which authorizes the arrest and detention of an individual.

Aren't the issued by judges? Ken 01:32, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A judge, a magistrate, or a justice of the peace, usually (granted the distinction between the offices is a fine one). bd2412 T 01:35, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There are problems with "India" section on this article

[edit]

A few mistakes have been pointed by fellow Wikipedia editor @WikiDan61 this usually include

1- Poorly formatted text

2-Too much legal jargon for the common man to digest

These mistakes were pointed out in Wikipedia article https://wiki.eso.workers.dev/wiki/Arrest_without_warrant but are also applicable here. Hence, I would like an experienced Wikipedia editor to review the article and amend it accordingly. Gurkulsahoo (talk) 18:30, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Gurkulsahoo: I've remove the direct quote of the law. The prior summary is sufficient. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:24, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
