Information icon Hello, I'm Wiiformii. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Portal:Current events/2024 June 9, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Wiiformii (talk) 23:44, 14 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of disasters in Canada by death toll, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Dakota, Lakota and Notre-Dame-du-Lac. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 09:16, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Injury/death count changes

[edit]

Please do not update injury and death counts in articles without providing or updating the sources. For example, none of the sources in these changes (along with many more) support the updated numbers: [1], [2], [3], [4]. Celjski Grad (talk) 06:15, 7 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Bloxzge, you have edited a large number of articles on the number of injured and dead, you must remember that the dead do not count as injured. Also you don't provide sources. An example, if before there were 3 dead and 5 injured, but one of the injured dies later, then the numbers change to 4 dead and 4 injured.--Rafaelosornio (talk) 16:20, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

i dont "count the dead as injured" I update things on their updated death tolls / injuries that are on the Wikipedia page of the event/s. Bloxzge 025 (talk) 17:55, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Also, you continue to hijack sources. These include [5], [6], [7], and many others. Please respond to these and other concerns brought up by editors on your talk page. Celjski Grad (talk) 17:17, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"hijack sources" 🤓 more like I update things according to the Wikipedia page and source updates actually bud. So don't accuse me of hijacking sources Bloxzge 025 (talk) 17:56, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I gave you seven examples where you changed death/injury counts without updating the source — see above. Celjski Grad (talk) 18:14, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Here are three examples.
In List of rampage killers you changed injuries from zero to four and left the source unchanged. The source states: "March 22, 2018 - Travis Reinking, 29, is accused of killing four people at an Antioch, Tennessee, Waffle House after walking in wearing only a green jacket and carrying an assault-type rifle." and says nothing about injuries.
In Portal:Current events/2024 July 13 you changed 20 to 22 killed and left the source unchanged. The source states: "The Palestinian Civil Defence in Gaza says 20 people are now confirmed dead"
In 2024 Hathras crowd crush you changed the death count from 123 to 124 without a source.
You cannot change numbers that are directly referenced by a source without updating the reference. If you're getting updated numbers from a source in another article then you must update the source too. Do you understand this? Celjski Grad (talk) 18:49, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Bloxzge 025: Please adjust your behavior or you will be sanctioned. I'm not only talking about your sourcing, but also how you talk to your fellow editors. Isabelle Belato 🏳‍🌈 22:09, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:XA-IRE.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:XA-IRE.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 18:30, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Guestbook signature

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for dropping by and visiting my guestbook page. I noticed that you also changed your signature. You might think about changing it again to something else because I think there are some guidelines about having high contrast colors that are not readable or whatever. I don't know if these were like blockable rules or whatever and so maybe an admin might bug you about it or maybe not, but you could probably read up on it at WP:signatures. Thanks again for visiting my page! Huggums537voted! (sign🖋️|📞talk) 20:45, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, ignore this message. I just looked at your signature in a browser running incognito mode without any of my scripts running and I also looked at the code in your signature so I've realized there isn't anything wrong with it. The problem is that somehow the code in your signature isn't compatible with the code in one of my scripts causing it to display in a way that makes it unreadable when I run my scripts. Maybe the script can be modified to account for when people use your style, but I'm not even sure which script it is exactly yet and I don't have time to run it down right now. Sorry about the mix-up. Huggums537voted! (sign🖋️|📞talk) 21:06, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
