Copying from one article to another
[edit]I see nothing wrong with the practice as long as the Edit summary mentions the source. For the articles on food allergies I copied content that was common to the physiology of allergy. David notMD (talk) 13:19, 6 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for clarifying :) It is a wonderful world (talk) 15:18, 6 September 2024 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Thankyou for the review
[edit]Thankyou so much for the review of history of chocolate. I only started reviewing GAs so I would know what I needed to do to get this to GA, so I'm very grateful that it received such a careful review and copyedit. Thankyou again. Rollinginhisgrave (talk) 13:18, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks, it really is my pleasure. Of all people that deserve a good review, it's you after reviewing 60+ of your own. Thank you also for committing to reviewing Matthew Webb, I started writing that article when I was much less experienced than I am now. I hope it's up to standard. A barnstar for you!

For getting Matthew Webb to GA after a lot of work; not many people work on a level 5 vital article as their first at GA, but you did an amazing job! Rollinginhisgrave (talk) 06:55, 5 October 2024 (UTC) |
- Thank you! The process was a lot of work, but absolutely worth it. I have learned so much about writing and Wikipedia, which wouldn't have been possible without such a patient reviewer. It is a wonderful world (talk) 07:09, 5 October 2024 (UTC)

DYK for History of chocolate
[edit]On 7 October 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article History of chocolate, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that a woman was considered a witch because her husband prepared chocolate instead of her? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/History of chocolate. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, History of chocolate), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Re: S. F. Light
[edit]Hello! Let me know if there's anything I can do to get the ball rolling on this. As I said before, I am happy to share offline sources with you as much as I can in lieu of Internet Archive's status. This means, if you want to do any spot checks, I can share the original offline sources with you, in whole or in part, in plain text, or some other way. Let me know. Viriditas (talk) 21:13, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
- It's crazy, I am actually doing the spot check right now! Not sure when IA came back online, I hadn't checked for the last half-week. It is a wonderful world (talk) 21:16, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you. Viriditas (talk) 21:19, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
- Passing now, I learned a lot from this review, thank you for discussing kindly on every point, even though some were overly stylistic. It was great that we could converge our perspectives through discussion alone. It's also the first review I have done which has passed the spot check with no issues! It is a wonderful world (talk) 21:59, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you. I will go back and review your points again to see if I can make additional changes. I have been known to continue addressing a reviewer's concerns long after the review has closed to show that I value your time and expertise. Viriditas (talk) 22:15, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

Nazareth Hall Preparatory Seminary
[edit]Hi! Thanks for reviewing the article. I believe I've taken care of the prose, media, and sourcing issues. I'll work on expanding the lead a bit more than I already have.
I do not have a physical copy of source [2], but do have one of source [5] and could email scans if you desire.
I left a couple questions on how to approach certain things you brought up. Thanks again! ~Darth StabroTalk/Contribs 21:30, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Darth Stabro, I believe you missed a few prose points on your check through, so I marked the completed fixes with a , and the points that are still yet to be addressed with a . The lead looks much better!
- For the purposes of keeping conversation in the right place, reply to my comments at the review page rather than here.
- Thank you for offering to email [5], I may take you up on that when I do the spot check. I am still going to wait for [2] to be available before doing it though, since it is so heavily used. It is a wonderful world (talk) 22:22, 26 October 2024 (UTC)

Pings
[edit]Um, there's really no need to go on pinging that guy, he was unhelpful last time and he's stated clearly that he's not interested. Anyway, if he now does reply (sigh), he will need careful management; be aware that you are the GA reviewer, not him, and you don't have to comply with anything he says. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 11:23, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
