Hello. Re this edit, could you detail at Talk:1993 Polish parliamentary election#Senate vote figures which lists you combined into independents and local lists? Cheers, Number 57 15:44, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2000 Polish presidential election, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jan Łopuszański.

Polish conservatism

[edit]

Greetings. I understand that you’re an expert at the history and politics of Poland. If you’re interested you could write a section on Polish conservatism in the main article on conservatism under the ”National variants” section—after Norway and before Russia. I was recently thinking of finding someone who could do this and you seem to be the right man for the job. Trakking (talk) 14:52, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Then, of course, there’s the potential work of creating an entire article named Conservatism in Poland, which could give a more comprehensive presentation of the topic. There are many nations that already have their own article on conservatism. Trakking (talk) 15:00, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will add a section, but it won't be too long or detailed. Polish kurd (talk) 16:25, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent work. Poland is a patriotic and heroic nation that deserves to be represented in the article. Trakking (talk) 21:07, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Polish United Party / Polish People's Union

[edit]

Just an FYI, article titles do not have to be the 'correct' translation of a party's name. What matters is how the party is generally referred to in English. For example, the Danish Social Liberal Party is a completely different name to its Danish one ('The Radical Left'). Cheers, Number 57 03:38, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am aware, but it's quite a niche party and I reckon someone just mistranslated it to that from Polish. Polish kurd (talk) 12:28, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Where did you get the seat breakdown within the Centrolew allianc? Can you add it as a source to the table. Cheers, Number 57 15:31, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I admit I just took them from the infobox. While I don't know what source that uses, I also know that this entire election page is just barely accurate in terms of the statistics. I have atleast two sources that give a few numbers differently from Nohlen & Stöver, and I'm still looking for more sources on this election. Anyways, I believe the entire page is to be redone eventually, I just thought about including numbers from the infobox in the table. Polish kurd (talk) 15:46, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, seems like the infobox cites Polish wikipedia which cites "Główny Urząd Statystyczny Rzeczypospolitej Polski, Statystyka Polski, seria C, z. 4, s. XXX.", I will include that in the table. Polish kurd (talk) 17:19, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Are you able to access the source? Based on my experience, I would suggest never trusting a source unless you can verify the content yourself (false representation is unfortunately very common - yesterday I noticed someone had used a source to claim a party won all the seats in an election - the source didn't say anything of the sort, and it turned out they had seen the claim made on Wikipedia and then apparently just added a random source to support the claim...). I found a few Polish sources for the election, but they all assert Centrolew won 82 seats (the seat numbers for the two PSL parties and SCh are the same, but they have PPS with 24 and NPR with 10)... Cheers, Number 57 19:52, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think I found the GUS report it's referring to[1], it also seems to assert that PPS won 24 and NPR won 10 (and that BBWR got 247) - however, Polish wikipedia also notes that some sources presenting the results for the parliamenary election claim Centrolew won not 79 but 82 seats, and that the difference comes from the fact that three representatives (two for NPR, one for PPS, so it checks out) that won seats on other electoral lists immediately joined the PPS/NPR club. I'm not sure if two of those defections were indeed from BBWR, and I'm not sure where the third one could have come from. Full data from GUS: 247 for BBWR, 62 for SN, 48 for the peasants' parties, 10 for NPR, 24 for PPS, 15 for PSChD, 18 for the Ukrainian parliamentary club, 6 for the Jewish parliamentary club, 5 for the German parliamentary club. Honestly, it might not be the best source. Another source I have also gives numbers different from the wikipedia page, though that also gives a different amount of votes for Centrolew - I'll note wikipedia also seems to not know all the parties that participated in Centrolew, neither do I. I think it's best to just wait for someone (probably me) to redo the entire 1930 parliametnary election page and get correct sources like that, and to leave the infobox and table as is for the time being, as it seems to be generally correct after having adjusted actual seats won from lists, though that might be original research by whoever made the numbers on Polish wikipedia. Polish kurd (talk) 23:05, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The other interwar elections also seem to have similarly dubiously accurate data - especially 1919, 1935, 1938 Polish kurd (talk) 23:10, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Polish kurd. I've deleted the edit summary you left at 2025 Polish presidential election as being grossly insulting. Please do not use that kind of language again in the future. Isabelle Belato 🏳‍🌈 21:26, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
