The Mount Edziza volcanic complex (MEVC) in British Columbia, Canada, has a history of volcanism that spans more than 7 million years. The first magmatic cycle took place between 7.5 and 6 million years ago and is represented by the Raspberry, Little Iskut and Armadillo geological formations. Volcanism has taken place during five cycles of magmatic activity, each producing less volcanic material than the previous one. During these cycles volcanism has created several types of volcanoes, including cinder cones, stratovolcanoes, subglacial volcanoes, shield volcanoes and lava domes. The roughly 1,000-square-kilometre (400-square-mile) volcanic plateau of the MEVC originated from the successive eruptions of highly mobile lava flows. Several types of volcanic rocks were deposited by multiple eruptions of the MEVC. At least 10 distinct flows of obsidian were produced by volcanism of the MEVC, some of which were exploited by indigenous peoples in prehistoric times to make tools and weapons. (Full article...)

2018 suggestion
[edit]Suggestion- is this suitable? In 1878 Ada Anderson completed her US Pedestrian debut, earning her $8000. Nejaby (talk) 22:48, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Nejaby: I did some cleanup on the article. Looks good. Thanks! —howcheng {chat} 17:31, 11 January 2018 (UTC).
- @Howcheng: Thanks I have now added it to the main page but not put it on for tomorrow (guessing that is too soon?). Nejaby (talk) 09:57, 12 January 2018 (UTC)

2019 suggestions
[edit]I've added a 1976 event about Sarah Caldwell: this does mean we have two based around the Met Opera so it might be a year to give a break to the public radio broadcasting? I've also added Winnie Byanyima to the births. As well increasing the gender diversity of the content, it also moves away from a American/European bias. Moira Paul (talk) 21:13, 9 January 2019 (UTC)
- @Moira Paul: Two problems with Caldwell: the date is not in the article, and even worse, the article has very few footnotes, so I've added a maintenance tag to it, making it ineligible for inclusion. —howcheng {chat} 17:34, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
- @Howcheng: Thanks for flagging the issues with the page. I had some sources that were not in the article - including ones for the date - so I have added these, and improved the inline citations. I did a bit of a tidy as well. Hopefully, those may be enough to remove the maintenance tag. Moira Paul (talk) 22:59, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
- @Moira Paul: Sorry, not good enough yet. Most the list of items in Boston is not cited (and it may be better to change that to list form), the NY/PA/MN section is mostly uncited, and the quotes are cited to an unreliable source. However, we do have a new article on a woman (Ada Anderson) and I added a second one to the staging area for future use (Bernice Gera). —howcheng {chat} 00:03, 11 January 2019 (UTC)
- @Howcheng: Thanks for the feedback: The biog is part of several projects to improve biographies, so I'll let them pick up the rest of the amends as opera is not my specialism (finding dates is!). Moira Paul (talk) 00:17, 11 January 2019 (UTC)
