Question
[edit]How do you revert people's edits that quickly? I want to know, since I want to be able to revert vandalism more efficiently. Cheers! // 🌶️Jalapeño🌶️ Don't click this link! 08:05, 23 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Jalapeño: Hi Jalapeño! I usually patrol Special:RecentChanges and Special:AbuseLog and use Twinkle to do the reverts. I hope this answers your question. Cheers!-Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 08:12, 23 May 2023 (UTC)
- I know, I do the same thing, but it always feels like you do it way faster than me. Cheers! // 🌶️Jalapeño🌶️ Don't click this link! 08:32, 23 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Jalapeño:Hmmm... Maybe you can try adding filters like "likely have problems" or "very likely have problems" in RecentChanges.-Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 08:34, 23 May 2023 (UTC)
- That's what I'm doing!!! Maybe it takes too long for me to check if it's vandalism or not.
- Here's what I do:
- 1. Patrolling RecentChanges with the Likely have problems filter.
- 2. I check every new addition, by going to the page, then pressing History, then comparing the 2 latest revisions.
- 3. If it's vandalism, I revert it. If it isn't, I leave it as it is, and keep patrolling RecentChanges
- 4. ???
- 5. Profit
- 6. Repeat
- Cheers! // 🌶️Jalapeño🌶️ Don't click this link! 08:45, 23 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Jalapeño: Oh, you can actually press the "diff" button next to an article in Recent Changes and it will show the 2 latest revisions directly, so you don't have to scroll through the page history. Maybe that's why it took you a longer time to patrol. See if this helps. Cheers!-Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 08:53, 23 May 2023 (UTC)

Rollback granted
[edit]Hi Prince of Erebor. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or RedWarn.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 02:11, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

- Hi @Paper9oll: Oh I wasn't aware of your edit only. Because you did not address this change at all in your reply, but mentioned something else about ROLEBIO and DRV, so I thought you had missed the point that my comment was about WP:REDACT. Yea, I think the current version is more than enough for the upcoming discussion. Thanks!!
- By the way, let me further explain my viewpoints a bit here. Although I do listen to K-pop, I seldom touch K-pop articles. The reason I got involved in this discussion is that I usually patrol ATDs related to Chinese language sources, and Yeh's AFD was tagged with Taiwan. Therefore, I am reviewing from my experience on articles in my field. An example that comes to mind would be the contestants of King Maker IV (something like Hong Kong Produce 101), where contestants like Sica Ho managed to have their articles retained as long as there were RS providing individual SIGCOV on the subject person (passing GNG) and they did not necessarily need to fulfill WP:MUSICBIO. I was not familiar with the consensus between K-pop article editors, nor did I expect there to be a difference in judgement compared to the same notability guidelines. However, if there are multiple experienced K-pop editors who share a consensus on individual notability and recommend Delete/Redirect, I will defer to the expertise of you guys and change my !vote by the end. I hate ATDs getting stuck in pointless relists and was not intending to break any consented common practices. You do not have to worry about my rebuttals presented or going to present in the discussion (just take me as a devil's advocate) or potential future DRVs. Autopatrolled granted
[edit]Hi Prince of Erebor, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.
Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.
Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Lectonar (talk) 14:41, 5 June 2024 (UTC) Lectonar (talk) 14:41, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

Question - how to add an English Wikipedia page?
[edit]Hi Prince of Erebor
Nice e-meeting you and hope you are well. This is Swana and I am new to Wikipedia.
May I please ask how we could add & edit a page for Error's Poki Ng (Ng Po Ki)? I am having difficulties to do so although I have the first paragraph ready.
"Poki Ng (Chinese: 吳保錡; born 25 January, 1991) is a Hong Kong artist who made his official debut in show business in 2018, after finishing as one of the top 20 contestants at ViuTV’s reality talent show “Good Night Show - King Maker” (Chinese: 全民造星). He is one of the members of the male pop quartet ERROR; following the release of his first solo single “Voluptuous” (Chinese: 猥瑣) in 2022, he was also recognized as a newcomer vocalist of that year."
I would like to create something similar to these two pages: https://wiki.eso.workers.dev/wiki/Tony_Wu_(actor) https://wiki.eso.workers.dev/wiki/Sica_Ho
Many thanks for your guidance. Have a lovely day!
Kind regards Swana Telebobo2525 (talk) 06:59, 11 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Telebobo2525: Hi Swana! So glad to have you on board for writing about Hong Kong entertainment on Wikipedia.
- You may want to take a look at the Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Biography, which has a step-by-step explanation and examples on how to write a biographical article. The lead section should be as concise as possible. Something like this would work well:
- Poki Ng Po Ki (Chinese: 吳保錡) is a Hong Kong singer, actor, and a member of the boy group Error. He was also one of the top 20 contestants on the ViuTV reality talent contest program Good Night Show - King Maker.
- The rest can go into the Biography section. You may want to use Sica Ho as a reference for a starting point, considering that she is also a singer who debuted from King Maker. Try to write something similar to Ho's Biography, covering Ng's background, debut, and career progression in chronological order. However, please be sure to cite reliable sources while writing. Reliable sources refer to independent and secondary materials from a credible origin. To make it simple, news articles would be the most ideal sources. For instance, these articles from Ming Pao[1] and Sky Post[2] with in-depth coverage on Ng would be excellent. Ideally, each sentence in the biography should be cited with a source at the end. You may use the reference template I included below, and learn more from Wikipedia:Citing sources about the citation format:
- <ref>{{Cite web |url= |title= |date= |publisher= |access-date= |language= }}</ref>
- End the article with a list of references and categories. For guidance on adding categories, take a look at Help:Category.
- The most challenging part may be demonstrating Ng's notability. Normally, an entertainer's notability can be shown through their works and media coverage. But since Ng is a member of Error, his activities within the group do not count toward his individual notability per WP:BANDMEMBER; only his individual career can warrant him an independent article. (This explains why many of the Error and Collar members do not have their own articles.) However, I am confident that Ng has enough individual notability due to his solo singles and television appearances. So when writing his biography, be sure to include sources about and mention more about his solo works "Obscene" (猥瑣; I believe this should be the correct translation) and awards, and solo TV appearances like hosting MM730 - Hello Auntie , to demonstrate his notability.
- Feel free to use other Hong Kongese entertainers articles as reference, and let me know if you have any other questions. Writing an article may be exhausting at first due to all the rules and guidelines, but it will become easier with practice, and I am sure you will find it fun and rewarding eventually. Re-submission
[edit]Hi @Prince of Erebor, I hope you have a wonderful day today.
After further research, re-writing, and redoing my citations, I have finally reworked my drafts for Luo Fangbo as you suggested with great success. Weixinyidu has been obviously removed, as the story inserted by the user was a bit contradictory to some of the other sources. China Central Television's citation has also been easily removed. The Global Times citation took a while, but it was also removed. I believe I have removed all of the unreliable Perennial sources. By the way, your suggestion on creating a separate paragraph and header for Luo Fangbo's final years to improve the flow was actually great and has been updated accordingly.
I'll resubmit the Draft in a moment. If you find any errors in the draft, I apologize and inform me of the wrongdoings and I'll fix it. Many Thanks! Kaliper1 (talk) 05:27, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hey @Kaliper1: I have reviewed the updated draft and accepted it to mainspace. The new sources are satisfactory, and I also believe the new Final years section presents Luo's biography in a more clear and accessible manner for readers. This is a very well-written and comprehensive article on a fairly important historical figure. Greatly appreciate your contributions and the effort you put into composing it! Cheers and keep up the excellent work!! —Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 14:38, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
Draft:Shi Guo
[edit]Dear @Prince of Erebor,
Thank you very much for reviewing and editing my previous submisision (Draft:Shi Guo). I'm so greatful that you have left me comments with much patience. Your comments are very helpful and have improved my understanding of the standard of Wikipedia.
I've supplemented more sources including books, academic papers, and website resourses. According to my research, the name of the subject person "Shi Guo" is intensively linked with the keyword "experimental Chinese ink painting". So, the introduction of this person with Wiki may help people better understand "Chinese traditional ink painting" and the history of its inovation in modern era.
I've resubmitted the article and it will be highly appreciated if you could review it again.
Best regards,
User:TedWiki123 TedWiki123 (talk) 22:44, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @TedWiki123: Thank you for composing such a decent article. I believe the subject's notability is already well demonstrated, and I have accepted your draft. However, the current article has a problem with reference-bombing, which means a number of sources were cited together in a bombardment, without specifying which source supports which piece of information. Please review Wikipedia:Inline Citations. Normally, an article should cite one or two sources per sentence to verify the facts presented. Please address this issue, and I believe that is the only remaining concern. Cheers and keep up the good work! —Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 12:10, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- Dear @Prince of Erebor, great thanks for reviewing and editing my submission again~! I'll carefully read the policy of Wikipedia:Inline Citations, address the reference-bombing issue, and keep improving the article in the future. Your guidance is so prompt and helpful. Thank you agian~! Sincerely, TedWiki123 TedWiki123 (talk) 13:32, 22 July 2024 (UTC)

- Dear @Prince of Erebor, I've tried my best to modify the reference list. But I'm still not sure whether the reference-bombing is fixed and whether I've responded to the message "This article has an unclear citation style. The references used may be made clearer with a different or consistent style of citation and footnoting. (July 2024) ". Could you please help me check it? Thank you very much~! Best Regards, TedWiki123 (talk) 09:18, 24 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @TedWiki123: Yes, the reference-bombing has been addressed and the citations are now much better, with each citation adequately supporting the claims in each sentence. This is an excellent improvement, although there are two minor concerns. Firstly, unlike on Chinese Wikipedia, periods (full stops) come before the references on English Wikipedia. I have already fixed this for you, so no worries there. The second concern is that the last sentence about Shi Guo's retirement and nicknames is still unsourced. Unreferenced claims on a biography of a living person have a very strict standard, and must be removed if there are no available sources to back them up. —Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 05:03, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
- Dear @Prince of Erebor, Great thanks, for your help and patient explanation, agian~! I've deleted the "nicknames" part as I can only find personal blog resoures; The information about "Shi Guo's retirement" can be found in a university's official website, and I've added it to the reference list. If this sourse does meet Wikipedia's requirements, I'll delete this part. Best regards, TedWiki123 (talk) 09:11, 25 July 2024 (UTC)

Linking Aozaru Shiao
[edit]Wikipedia:Red link says: Red links help Wikipedia grow.[1] The creation of red links prevents new pages from being orphaned from the start.[2] Good red links help Wikipedia—they encourage new contributors in useful directions, and remind us that Wikipedia is far from finished.
Someone like Aozaru Shiao is certainly notable and there's nothing wrong with placing an inline interlanguage link for him in the article about one of his films. BorgQueen (talk) 06:08, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @BorgQueen: Please refer to MOS:STYLEVAR. While Aozaru Shiao is certainly a notable filmmaker deserving of his own article, as I mentioned in the edit summary, all unlinked names in the article have corresponding articles in zhwiki and are notable enough to have their own articles here. (For instance, Frederick Lee and JC Lin .) I also do not typically add red links in the Sinophone film articles that I create/primarily contribute to.
- When both editing styles are acceptable, the consistently applied style should be maintained. Since all other available red links in Plurality (film) remain unlinked, I do not see a reason to specifically link to Shiao, and consistency should be upheld. As for the reason I avoid using red links in film articles, it was because having a full article of reds and blues is considered overlinking and can affect readability. Therefore, I prefer not to add red links to all articles that may potentially be created. Please take a look at MOS:REDLINK,
the unassuming coloration of the text (probably black) is the most productive.
- For these reasons, I reverted your good faith edit initially. However, since you disagree, I would like to seek your consensus on the consistently applied style before making any further changes to avoid edit warring. —Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 07:29, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
- I've self-reverted for now as I don't want to give the impression that I'm edit-warring. However, MOS:REDLINK says:
In prose, if it seems that the level of red linking is overlinking, remember that red links have been found to be a driving force that encourages contributions
– Linking just one name once in the entire article is not overlinking. But I suppose our time can be used for more useful stuff for the project, so let's drop it. Nice article, by the way – Asian cinema in general has been one of the neglected topics here on the English Wikipedia. Keep up the good work. BorgQueen (talk) 07:44, 8 September 2024 (UTC)- @BorgQueen: Yes, I understand your point, and adding red links is a perfectly acceptable editing style. My intention was simply to maintain consistency, sorry for not making myself clear in the first place. It is true that Asian cinema is an often overlooked field, and I wish there were more ways to encourage more editors to contribute. (Perhaps I should think about adding red links sometime.)
- Thanks for your encouragement and tweaks to the article. I genuinely appreciate your contributions in managing DYK nominations as well! Cheers and see you around at DYK!! —Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 08:02, 8 September 2024 (UTC)

Question re: Reliability of Sohu
[edit]Hi Prince. I just wanted to reach out to you regarding Sohu.com and ask about its reliability. I'm doing an article on Beijing Hanhai (currently at User:Crisco 1492/Hanhai Auction), and I found a very detailed overview at Sohu.com. However, when I looked up the source, I saw that the nom de plume 猪头三 translates basically to "stupidhead". Before I relied on this for much information, I wanted to consult an area expert (or at least someone with more expertise than me) as to its reliability. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 12:13, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hey Chris! Sohu is more of a portal or aggregator website that features both news articles from mainstream media and contributions from registered users and personal media. I do not think there is a consensus among Wikipedians on enwiki regarding Sohu's reliability, but user-generated content on Sohu is considered generally unreliable on zhwiki (and if I recall correctly, it was blacklisted by the spam filter starting in 2022). However, like Yahoo News!, Sohu also reposts news articles from national and local newspapers, which are usable since their reliability is inherited from the original publication. I have seen some FAs on zhwiki citing Sohu as a source, but it is preferable to cite the original article directly from the publishing media imo.
- Regarding the article you attached, I checked the source "体育的健将", and it appears to be a personal media account (with only 10 followers). Based on their publication history, they primarily post advertorials for auction and antique companies, so I think it should be regarded as unreliable. The same goes for the source "猪头三", which is another personal media account with 30 followers. Unfortunately, while the article seems to cover the Hanhai Auction in great detail, I am afraid it is not reliable and you may need to find another source. —Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 15:19, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks muchly. I've nixed the existing reference to the Sohu article; worst case scenario, the auction house's "About Us" page covers the same material. I will also avoid the 猪头三 source. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 15:23, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Crisco 1492: I agree. A primary source is definitely preferable to an unreliable source. Good luck with your article! —Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 15:31, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks! It's shaping up much better than I thought, but then when I redlinked it in Gao Qifeng I didn't realize it was such a large auction house. I'm an Indonesianist by training, with a focus on Chinese Indonesian film and literature (which historically has been influenced by Hokkien and Fujianese culture), but digging into Guangdong and the Lingnan school has been teaching me a lot. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 15:36, 10 October 2024 (UTC)

- Thanks! You're no slouch yourself - I was impressed by Louisa Mak, and your ability to pull together numerous small references to present a comprehensive biography of the subject. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 16:54, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for your appreciation, Chris Woodrich. BLPs involving native sources are quite an overlooked area on enwiki that requires significant effort. Hong Kong Movie Database
[edit]So I managed to get a copy of Encyclopedia of Chinese Film (1998), and I'm thinking of going through a few of the historic films and biographies included therein and making articles. Now, some of these filmmakers were predominantly active in Taiwan and Hong Kong... as such, I was wondering how reliable the Hong Kong Movie Database is. I know back when I used to write Indonesian film articles the database filmindonesia.or.id was reliable because it was a) derived from a published catalogue and b) handled by an editorial staff, with no user submissions. How is the HKMD? — Chris Woodrich (talk) 11:33, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hey Chris! No, HKMDB is a generally unreliable source on zhwiki. It is a self-published website operated by a handful of volunteers without any editorial oversight or correction policies. I would not recommend using it, as the information may not be completely accurate. I cleaned up an article that cited HKMDB some time ago, which claimed the film was filmed in Spain. But after digging up newspapers, I found multiple sources stating that the film was actually filmed in Italy. So no, I do not think it is not reliable. —Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 16:22, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'm glad I stayed away from it. Wrote Xu Xinfu earlier, and there are two redlinks there that are begging for articles later this week. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 16:25, 21 October 2024 (UTC)

Question re: Newspaper Article
[edit]Hi, Prince. I was wondering if you could tell me which of the articles at File:Yan Ruisheng - Reward for Capture (Shen Bao, 19 June 1920, p1).png is specifically calling for information leading to the arrest of Yan Ruisheng. I've used the image at our article on the movie, but I was thinking that indicating the specific article would help readers... and my ability to read Chinese without Google Lens is limited to simple glyphs like ren and nu. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 13:03, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- Chris, the heading right under the "Pao" of "The Shun Pao Chinese Daily News" reads "捉拿謀財害命兇手閻瑞生賞格", which translates to "Capture the thuggish murderer Yan Ruisheng, reward offered". I believe that is the article you are looking for. —Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 14:30, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- Ah, the nice bold one. Thanks! — Chris Woodrich (talk) 14:42, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

Question re: Name
[edit]Hi Prince, sorry to bug you again. I just finished Kwan Man-ching, and I'm seeing newspaper reports in the United States saying that he was married to Tso Yee-min by 1940. She was apparently an actress in the San Francisco-produced Cantonese film Golden Gate Girl, among other things, but I haven't been able to find the original script for her name to check with Chinese sources to see if they were married, or if their relationship was misconstrued in the American papers. Would you happen to know? — Chris Woodrich (talk) 01:36, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- Nix that, I forgot to check Zh-Wiki, which had 曹綺文 (and no, they don't seem to have been married). — Chris Woodrich (talk) 01:41, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- No worries, Chris. I am glad I could help! Yes, the Chinese name of Tso Yee-min is 曹綺文 , and I think you are right that Tso and Kwan were not married, but I did some searches to double-check.
- The answer seems to be no. Tso's only marriage was to film producer and diplomat Mui Yau-cheuk. They married in 1946 and remained together until Tso's death in 1948.[3](p.4 《曹綺文出殯》, "Tso Yee-min's Funeral") It seems Tso's connection to Kwan was that Kwan directed Tso's debut film, and the two traveled to the U.S. in 1939 to pitch some of their projects.[4](p.46, "In 1939, Kwan Man-ching and Tso Yee-min went to the United States, where they presented films from the Shanyue Film Company in various locations and planned to sell a script based on Chinese warfares to Hollywood film companies for production." (1939 年,關文清與曹綺文赴美,在美國各地輪流放映山月公司的影片,並計 劃把以中國戰事為題材所編的劇本售給荷里活影片公司拍攝)) I did not find anything suggesting they had even been in a relationship. —Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 09:19, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- Glad I was sceptical. Chung went into a lot of detail about Kwan's early career, and I doubt she would have let a marriage to an actress he directed be ignored. Thanks! — Chris Woodrich (talk) 10:25, 8 November 2024 (UTC)

Quick request
[edit]Hi Prince of Erebor,
I was wondering if you could do me a quick favour. I'm doing an article on Two Stars in the Milky Way, and the English-language credits are cut off (they also use Wade Giles, which is frustrating). Would you be able to access the film at Virtual Shanghai, minute 1:01, and let me know the correct pinyin of the characters and actors' names? The image quality is too low for G-Translate to work. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 20:05, 30 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hey Chris, no problem! The pinyins are as follows:
- Li Yueh Ying (Li Yueying in pinyin) - Violet Wong (紫羅蘭; Zi Luolan in pinyin, but I think the name Violet Wong is more commonly used)
- Yang Yee Yun (Yang Yiyun in pinyin) - Raymond King (金燄; Jin Yan in pinyin)
- Director Kao Che (Gao Qi in pinyin) - Kao Chien Fei (Gao Zhanfei in pinyin)
- Vampire Chuen Ping (Chun Ping in pinyin) - Yeh Chuen Chuen (Ye Juanjuan in pinyin)
- Li Kuk Tung (Li Xudong in pinyin) - V.K. Chung (宗惟賡; Zong Weigeng in pinyin)
- Actress - Chen Yen Yen (Chen Yanyan in pinyin)
- As for the final cast member at the bottom of the list that was cut off the screen, he played "副導演" (assistant director) and the actor's name is 劉繼群 (Liu Chi Ch'un/Liu Chi Chuan in Wade Giles, Liu Jiqun in pinyin). I hope this helps! —Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 07:04, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
- It does! I was having trouble figuring out why Liu Jiqun was credited in Rea (2021), but that makes sense. The article turned out pretty good, so I'm happy. (As an aside, congrats on having that many ASIANMONTH submissions! Impressive!) — Chris Woodrich (talk) 14:44, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Crisco 1492: Yes, I also thought that Liu would probably be the cast member whose name you needed the most, since not even the Wade Giles translation was shown on screen. Glad that I am able to help! I read the article earlier and was very impressed by the thorough and well-written analysis section. Your work on Chinese cinema is truly outstanding! And btw thanks for the compliment, although I did not particularly write more for Asian Month, I just create articles for red links that I come across, like some winners and nominees for the recent 61st Golden Horse Awards (including Mo Tzu-yi which you reviewed at DYK). So most of them are just start or c-class articles and are no match to the ones you have written. —Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 15:25, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
- Oh, I probably would have been writing on the subject even without the editathon. Early cinema was my specialty in academia, and Shanghai contributed to the rise of cinema of the Dutch East Indies through some of the early directors (in fact, I expect that Mingxing's Wu Cun is the same Wu Tsun credited as doing some work in the Indies in the 1940s). And you don't do yourself enough credit – the articles you've put together are excellent! — Chris Woodrich (talk) 15:29, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for your encouragement, Chris, and no wonder you can analyze so many academic publications and write such detailed articles, even about some black-and-white films. I do not know much about early Asian cinema and I have really learned a lot from your articles!! —Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 16:14, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
Women in Red
[edit]Hi there, Prince of Erebor, and welcome to Women in Red. I see you have recently created quite a number of biographies of actresses from Taiwan, mostly rated C or B class. We look forward to many more. You are obviously an experienced editor but even so you might find it useful to look through our Primer. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 08:27, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for your welcoming message, Ipigott! I actually have a question that might already be answered somewhere but I may have overlooked it. May I ask if only the articles listed in the Redlist index are considered part of the WikiProject, or can any new articles about women or works related to women be registered as well? —Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 15:57, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- All articles about women and their works are welcome. In addition to biographies, we encourage articles about women's organizations, literature, art, films and other works as well as women's initiatives in fields such as business, science, sports, politics, education and religion. Our redlink lists are offered as a general guide but should not be taken as recommendations of articles to be created. In many cases, the women mentioned in our redlinks are not notable enough for inclusion on the English Wikipedia. Hope this helps.--Ipigott (talk) 16:29, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- Got it! Thanks a lot for your detailed answer, Ipigott. Look forward to seeing you around the project! —Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul) 16:36, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
