Wikipedia:WikiProject Quality Article Improvement
This is a WikiProject, an area for focused collaboration among Wikipedians. New participants are welcome; please feel free to participate!
|
Several Wikipedians in 2012 formed this collaboration resource and group dedicated to improving the quality of Wikipedia's Quality Articles, namely Good articles (GA) and Featured articles (FA). This page and its subpages contain suggestions and various resources; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of Wikipedians interested in the topic. If you would like to help, please join the project and inquire on the talk page.
Goals
[edit]- Project members deal with Peer reviews, nominations for FA on Featured article candidates and nominations to appear as Today's featured article (TFA) on Today's featured article requests (TFAR). Suggestions for TFA can be placed on the project's talk page.
- Improving and proper use of referencing, infoboxes and other templates are areas of interest to this project. References in separate lists are preferred, for the ease of maintaining both text and references.
- Project members promote Web Content Accessibility Guidelines standards.
- The project keeps track of missed users, hoping to retain quality editors to write quality articles.
- Project members "hold up the torch for reformation, for elucidating love and study, for a free project that everybody can edit without petty restrictions, for peace".
Scope
[edit]- Good articles, their nominations, review and maintenance
- Featured article candidates
- Featured articles
- Today's featured article requests
- Infoboxes and navboxes (added 4 August 2013, forgotten when goals were updated. We are merrily unorganized.)
- Translation from and to other languages (added 30 April 2015)
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Women (added 30 August 2015, several members are women, and the others also care about more coverage of women on Wikipedia)

- SMcCandlish ☺ ☏ ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ᴥⱷʌ≼ 01:28, 20 November 2015 (UTC) I spend much more time on WP improving existing articles that creating new ones. We need better articles more than we need yet another article about some minor actor, or regionally quasi-famous band, or disputed subspecies of microbe. Most of the important articles already exist, but many of them are crap, and many that reach GA or FA don't stay there but become crappy again over time.

- Finnusertop (talk · contribs) We say that "the typical profile for an article's development" is steadfast progress on a one-way street to FA status. FAs are "considered complete", and one would expect them to stay that way. Yet, the reality is that regress of FAs is not uncommon. - ARoseWolf - Gerda is such an amazing Wiki-friend and a special thanks for leading me here. I began here as Tsistunagiski (joined October 27th, 2020) which was mothers name but now go by ARoseWolf so creating a new bio here seemed appropriate. I enjoy articles on Indigenous people, cultures and their ways of life and the Ashkenazi Jews of which my heritage belongs to both. Articles on women and women related subjects is a significant interest of mine. Also enjoy the natural beauty of the Earth so any articles on geological locations and formations is of particular importance. People interest me. The way we interact interests me. The ebb and flow of conversation, even those where discord occurs, has always fascinated me because I see it differently than most and love to experience the world through others eyes because it enriches my own journey. Seeing articles written by others about topics deemed notable helps me explore that. --ARoseWolf 16:45, 21 June 2021 (UTC)
